Lambrusco Mantovano D.O.C. Rosso Amabile

Lambrusco is one of the oldest wines in the world. Already 2000 years ago, the Latin poet Virgil, native of Mantua, mentioned the existence of vitis labrusca; Pliny the Elder, on the other hand, described it as “vitis vinifera whose leaves turn blood red before falling.”

It was the Romans who even found a way to make it sparkling: they obtained the wine through a refermentation in amphorae which, once filled and well sealed, were buried underground or half-immersed in icy water, thus maintaining a low temperature; for the sparkling version, they ensured that the temperatures were higher, which promoted the effervescence.

So remember: a glass of Lambrusco is a glass of history!
