Bonarda Oltrepò Pavese D.O.C. Secco

It seems that the name ‘Bonarda’ derives from the Lombardic name formed by ‘bono’ and ‘hard’, which meant ‘strong and courageous’. The grape variety used to produce Bonarda is Croatina, which instead derives from the dialectal term for tie, ‘croatta’.
