This wine-based flavored beverage is an evolution of what was already produced in the early 19th century, namely a beverage made from red wine, still or sparkling, obtained from the vinification of grapes of the Vitis lambrusca species, known as strawberry grape also called American grape, Isabella, Raisin de Cassis. It is the oldest “American vine” introduced in Europe and is currently used only for strictly family use wine production.
